Our Vision
When Attitude Takes Shape
Fashion was never merely decoration to me.
It has always been a question of dignity, presence, and self-conception.
As a woman with a fuller bust, I know the reality of a fashion market that speaks of diversity – yet too often reaches its limits precisely where women’s bodies begin to take up space. Finding well-fitting, elegant clothing that empowers rather than restricts was never a luxury concern for me. It was everyday life.
I have experienced cuts that were compromises.
Materials that felt generic.
Businesswear in extended sizes that was functional, yet rarely truly aesthetic.
And I knew: this could not remain the standard.
Why I Founded POVEL
POVEL was born from personal experience – but shaped by a deliberate decision.
I did not want to create another label for “larger sizes”.
I wanted to build a brand that approaches fit intelligently from the very beginning.
One that does not merely scale the body, but understands it.
POVEL designs for women with curves – and with conviction.
For women who are fully engaged in life.
Who carry responsibility.
Who are economically independent.
Who choose to remain visible.
For me, sizes 40 to 54 are not a niche.
They are reality.
And they deserve design on equal terms.
A Name with Heritage
The name POVEL is more than a brand to me.
I am a descendant of Ludwig Povel, the founder of the historic Povel textile factory in Nordhorn. For decades, this company shaped German textile history and left a lasting mark on the region.
This heritage is not a nostalgic reference point for me.
It is a responsibility.
With POVEL, I reinterpret textile tradition in a contemporary way – modern, sustainable, and female-led.
I unite heritage with vision.
Substance with clarity.
Structure with freedom.
The winged horse in the logo symbolises precisely this:
strength, elevation, and movement.
What POVEL Stands For
POVEL is more than fashion.
It is a mindset.
For women who refuse to compromise between quality, design, and values.
For women who know who they are – and express it with confidence.
For women who claim their space.
Here, fashion is not a façade.
It is an expression of self-respect.
Of independence.
Of freedom.
